Caring For Your Baby’s Nails

Your baby’s nails are growing. Fast. And baby is giving you a hard time about taking care of the situation.

For a newborn baby you can just use mittens to keep them from scratching their faces (budget version is socks).

Trim baby’s nails when they are asleep. This is the best and easiest way.

Baby’s nails are the softest after a bath, like yours. Try trimming then.

Make sure you use baby nail clippers. Adult ones are too big and bulk for baby’s delicate nails.

Trim your baby’s nails while daddy or someone else distracts him.

Okay I got this from a couple of other mothers and I don’t do it myself but after the bath your baby’s nails are soft enough to bite off.

Don’t cut baby’s nails so close that you cut the skin. Press gently on the pads of the fingers to pull the skin away from the nail.
