Diaper Changing 101
By the time your baby is a few months old you will be an old hand at changing diapers. As icky as the process is changing baby's diaper is still a moment of bonding. I've gotten my sweetest smiles over the changing table.
Supplies
- changing pad
- clean diapers
- diaper wipes or cloths
- diaper rash or barrier cream
- clean change of clothing
- diaper pail
Change baby often. It’s great for your baby’s skin and your sensitive nose. First thing in the morning. After a nap. Shortly after a feed and before taking a nap or going to bed.
Method
- Have all your supplies at the read.
- Wash your hands before tending to baby.
- Lay baby on the changing pad.
- Remove clothing covering your baby’s bottom. Unless your baby has soiled through to the clothing you can just move any bottoms out of the way.
- Undo the diaper and use the sides of it to wipe up excess excrement.
- Fold up the used diaper and toss it into the diaper pail.
- Use a diaper cloth or diaper wipe to clean your baby thoroughly. Use as many as needed.
- Put the clean diaper under your baby’s bottom and apply diaper cream as needed.
- Close up diaper and fully dress your baby.
Voila!
