Relaxation Techniques for Toddler’s Bedtime
It probably seems as though your toddler does nothing but play all day. But in reality your growing child is working very hard. As your growing baby is learning to walk, talk, and climb, he’s also is pushing himself to the limits of his physical strength and mental learning.
Growing isn’t easy. Each tumble, bump, and new discovery is activity that is pushing your toddler to exhaustion. Sometimes you may find that your toddler is becoming a little cranky with daily details and routine activities and favorites things are no longer favorites. Your toddler needs some rest.
Many children need help getting to sleep. Mom and Dad can help their growing toddlers transition from business to a quiet peaceful nap or sleep by using simple relaxing activities designed to ease into slumberland.
After dinner make sure the scene is quiet. Coloring a picture, reading favorite books with Mom or Dad, watching a soothing video, bath time, and even singing together helps your toddler start winding down. This is also known as a bedtime routine and if done regularly your toddler will come to associate these activities with bedtime and find them comforting and he’ll be able to easily recognize when bedtime occurs.
Mom don’t forget to relax with your toddler. If your toddler sees you busy cooking, cleaning, or involved in other busy activities in the evenings, he’ll be likely to want to do the same, making the bedtime routine frustrating for everyone involved.
Get some sleep.
