Pack Your Bags for Baby Deliver at the Hospital
Long before you feel the first contraction it only makes sense that you have packed a bag to make the hospital stay for your and your baby as comfortable as possible. While there may be some more specific items you want to take along with you here is a list of some basic needed for delivering your baby at the hospital. Legalities and Paper Stuff Insurance information for you and baby Birth Plan:
- Fill out an online birth plan here
- Phone Numbers of friends and family: Not just to let them know of the birth of your little one but you never know when you might need an extra hand.
- Thank you cards: Hey you might have the time.
Mom Items for during labor Your Music if you are so inclined:
- Some find that soothing music helps with the whole birth process.
- Toiletries (toothbrush, lotion, lip balm, soap): You will want to clean up at some point.
- Hair tools (brush, comb, hair bands): If your hair is longer it can REALLY get in the way. Put it up.
- Socks and/slippers Robe: Make sure it’s an old one. Never bring a clothing item you treasure to the hospital. You could lose it or it could get get messed up. My favorite receiving blanket for our daughter got destroyed this way.
Mom Items for after labor:
An outfit to go home in
very comfy spreadable shoes (and socks if it’s cold)
Good bra
Bags to carry stuff home in (you always get stuff when you give birth)
Baby Items :
Car seat outfit to bring baby home in
Receiving blanket
Small packed diaper bag
Partner Items Toiletries Change of clothes Snacks (yes you can buy but some of us have food allergies)
